A facet of Openness
Imagination (or fantasy) measures how much your mind lives in inner worlds: the richness of your mental life, the tendency to wander, daydream and build scenarios that don't exist yet. It's the fertility of your inner landscape.
Your mind generates worlds, ideas and possibilities effortlessly; you never get bored with yourself. The cost: sometimes fantasy pulls you from what's in front of you, and you confuse the possible with the probable.
Your feet are on the ground: you prefer the real and concrete to the hypothetical, and you don't get lost in reverie. The blind spot: you may dismiss ideas as 'impractical' before letting them grow.
Dreaming a lot isn't escapism and being concrete isn't a lack of imagination: they're different ways of inhabiting the mind. High fantasy creates but can distract; low fantasy executes but can impoverish. What matters is whether your inner world nourishes you or isolates you.
Where it shows. It shows in whether you get lost staring out the window, in how you react to a 'what if...', in your taste for fiction, and in how much of your day you spend inside your head.
