A facet of Openness

Emotional sensitivity

Emotional sensitivity (openness to feelings) measures how much you value and attend to your own emotional life: whether your emotions are a central compass or a noise you'd rather turn down. It's how much access you have to what you feel.

Scoring high

You're deeply connected to what you feel and give emotion a legitimate place; that inner listening guides you. The cost: strong emotions can flood you, and sometimes you give them more weight than the situation asked for.

Scoring low

You manage from the head more than the heart: emotions are there but they don't hold the wheel. The blind spot: sometimes you overlook emotional signals — yours or others' — that were worth attending to.

The honest nuance

Feeling intensely isn't emotional maturity and restraint isn't coldness: they're different ways of relating to your own inner world. The key isn't how much you feel, but whether you use that information or it governs you.

Where it shows. It shows in whether you name what you feel or struggle to, in how you experience a film, in how much others' moods affect you, and in whether emotions inform you or overwhelm you.
